Troubleshooting – Conditional Redirect

If your conditional redirect isn’t working as expected, don’t worry — here are a few simple steps to help you identify and resolve the issue.

1. Test the redirection shortcode

  1. Create a new testing page (or edit an existing one) and paste the redirect shortcode directly into the main content field – not inside a trigger, conditional block, popup, template, etc.
  2. View the page to check if the redirection works. If it doesn’t, the issue is most likely with your redirect shortcode. Check for typos or try regenerating it.

2. Confirm the condition is working as expected

  1. On your trigger (or dynamic content block), add some simple text before the redirect shortcode – for example: This is a test.
  2. Visit the page in a new incognito window.

Do you see the test text?
    – If not, the condition may be misconfigured or the content might be blocked by caching.
    – If yes, the condition is working, and the issue is likely related to the redirect shortcode itself or a caching conflict.

3. Check caching settings

  1. Try loading the content with and without Ajax (Page Caching Compatibility) to determine if caching is interfering. How to enable/make sure the Ajax loading is enabled.
  2. Switch to JavaScript-based redirection by adding the parameter type=’js’ to your shortcode. For example:
[ifso-redirect url='https://example.com' type='js']

Still not working?

If the issue persists:

  • Let us know where the shortcode is placed.
  • Share which condition is being used.
  • Confirm whether the redirect works on a blank test page.
