How to install the If-So WordPress plugin

To install If-So, you must already have a working version of WordPress installed. If you need help installing WordPress, follow the instructions in the WordPress Codex.

There are two ways to install and activate If-So:

  1. Via the WordPress installer
  2. Via FTP

Installing If-So via WordPress

  1. Log in to your account and download the If-So ZIP file.
  2. On your WordPress dashboard, go to PluginsAdd New.
  3. Click Upload Plugin.
  4. Locate and select the If-So ZIP file on your computer.
  5. Once the upload is complete, click Activate.

Installing If-So via FTP

To use FTP, you will need an FTP client for your computer. Popular options include FileZilla and WinSCP. Both are available for Mac and Windows.

  1. Connect to your server using your FTP client.
  2. Locate the document root for your site (the folder that contains your WordPress files). This folder is often called public_html or named after your domain, but it may vary. If you are unsure, contact your hosting provider.
  3. Open the wp-content/plugins/ directory.
  4. Upload the plugin folder that was created when you unzipped the plugin file.
  5. Once the upload is complete, go to the WordPress Plugins page and click Activate next to the If-So plugin.
